Marie Angeletti (b. Marseille, 1984) lives and works in London. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2011. Angeletti uses photography to re-present and re-frame discordant yet familiar genres of representation. A seemingly wide range of subjects is subsumed by the arrangement and repetition of images, suggesting new readings and interpretations; in turn questioning the original source and authorship of the image.
Exhibitions include: Objects of Desire in Ethnographic Collections, Weltkuturen Museum, Frankfurt, 2013; Mixed Feelings, Cole, London, 2012 (solo); The Magic of Photography, curated by Charlotte Cotton, Daegu Biennale, South Korea, 2012; Marie Angeletti/Mathis Gasser, Vitrine Bermondsey Square, 2012; Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2011, ICA, London; Show 2011, Royal College of Art, London. She has recently worked on “Fabricants Couleurs” a site-specific installation inside a paint factory for Marseille, Culture Capital 2013.
