Katherine Gardner

Katherine Gardner (b. York, 1980) lives and works in London. She sources imagery from advertising and fashion; images that overtly depict a constructed atmosphere or resonate classical compositions, ideas that are juxtaposed to form textural backdrops digitally printed on to fabric or paper. These domestic scale reproductions are suspended overlaying one another to create free flowing and conflicting pictorial planes, oscillating between the aesthetic, domestic and dramatic.
